Hey.
I heard about Silex a few years ago I think, but v2 was not what I was looking for. v3 on the other hand is a whole other story.
Currently, my main professional activity is web development, leaning heavily on eco-design and open tech and standards.
I have been working on multiple projects for a Jamstack website builder for years now. I just (re)discovered Silex while doing research for a reboot project on the same idea and stumbled upon eleventy-plugin-directus (now archived and replaced by a more flexible solution as I understood) because I am looking at using this exact stack: 11ty + Directus.
Some of my focus points for this reboot are: eco-design, linked data (structured data), user friendliness, best in class output, fully customizable design, ...
I still need to explore Silex a lot more to see if it fits with my plans and desires but from what I read and saw, I know now that we share a lot in terms of ethics and vision so I will definitely take these investigations seriously and probably get in touch for more technical questions.
What seems really interesting to me at first glance is that you are tackling the part of the work I was most procrastinating on: the whole visual, drag and drop thing that felt like a complete headache to me. 😅 (even though I knew about GrapesJS)
Anyway... Let's keep in touch.
PS: I am a native french speaker from Belgium
PPS: Not that anyone should use these tools because they are outdated and/or unfinished, but here are two projects I worked on: toile.io, poko-notion
