Usage of symbols

Being a heavy user of 'symbols' in SilexV3, I wonder how their usage could be optimized.

Indeed, sometimes my 'symbols' get lost among all my other 'symbols'.
Thus, I'm proposing this open discussion to hear your ideas and feedback on your usage.

My suggestions are:

Add a visual indicator (colored border) to the selected 'symbol' in the tree view and the layout,
Why not even an anchor that takes us directly to it (similar to clicking on a container in our tree view).
Can rename the "symbols"

we need to add a button or somtething to select all instances of a sybol and scroll to it
what if they are on different pages?

I agree with "Symbols" being a confusing name for it. I thought it would actually be an actual symbol. We can brainstorm with the idea for a new name, such as "Reusable Elements", or maybe "Copy-Cat" if you're looking for a fun name.

As for the indicator, that would be very useful. I already like the Diamond Logo, maybe if there's different logos per element? Or for it to be easier, it can be the diamond logo, but different colours for the indicator, so we won't run out of colours easily.

Also I noticed when you "unlink" a symbol, the symbol logo still stays in the layers and in the element itself. Just a small bug report.

That is an interesting question. And maybe we should talk about the wording in silex in general

In grapesjs, the framework used in silex v3 each element on the stage is represented by a component (a javascript object which renders what we see on the stage)

In HTML the elements on the stage would be called elements

In webflow the symbols used to be called symbols, as explained in this (very interesting) article

In photoshop the symbols are called smart objects
