Template on Windows desktop v3.9?

Is it possible to use one of the locked templates on the desktop version of Silex? I am a new user and just contributed by paying for the template pack. I can access all the templates on the online version of Silex and publish the site to GiLab, but I would like to be able to edit the site on my local Windows version and can't seem to find a way to download the template for local use. My apologies if I am missing something in the documentation that should be obvious.
I did try and download the site from the online version of Silex, but was unable to export it to a zip file as I get an error saying "You need to select a hosting connector to publish your website. Login error. Please login." when I select download zip file as the hosting connector."

Hi Darryl, and thanks for buying the template pack, it keeps @ceubri going and helps the project !

Using a template in the desktop app is tricky but possible. Silex Desktop is at a very early stage. If you want to try:

click "open in silex" from the email or the template site
download your template repository from gitlab (link in the site settings)
copy the site folder to the folder Silex Desktop uses for its projects (you can create a site in silex desktop, then click "open folder" to see where it is stored)
You will likely need to add a meta.json file to your site folder, this file is missing in the templates. You can copy that file from another site you created in Silex Desktop. I opened an issue so you can follow it: https://github.com/silexlabs/Silex/issues/1808

Please note that connecting the desktop app to git forges is what we are building right now, so this will get much easier to sync. I'm very pleased you are testing Silex Desktop right now, it will help a lot

lexoyo Thank you so much. I am sort of relieved it wasn't something obvious that I overlooked and will do all this tomorrow. And thank you for opening a ticket and I look forward to the integration when it gets implemented. Having a link to between the desktop app and the online version will make things far more user friendly. Thanks again!

Hi Darryl, just checking in. Did the workaround work for you?

One update: the bug you hit (#1808) is now fixed in the latest prerelease, v3.10.0-canary.2. If the manual steps felt heavy, you can install that build instead and it should just work. It is still an early alpha, so keep backups of your work.

If you are stuck anywhere, say so here and we will figure it out.

One thing I left out: that prerelease is not on the download page, it only lives on GitHub, so here is the direct link for Windows.

Run it over your current install. Your projects folder is not touched. Windows will warn you about an unknown publisher, that is expected, we do not have a code signing certificate yet.

If you would rather stay on the stable build, copying meta.json by hand still works.
